Stunning lack of offense

Sox couldn't get it done against Rich Harden tonight. Harden, who has struggled with his control all season, walked only one White Sox batter. Willie Harris had both of Chicago's free passes Thursday night -- one from Harden and one from Octavio Dotel in the ninth inning.
This is probably exemplary of the problems the Sox are going to have without Frank Thomas in their lineup. Just losing his +.400 OBP is a killer, but to top it off, nobody else really gets on base with comperable efficiency.
Much has been made about the Sox being only a .500 team with Magglio Ordonez out of the lineup, but that's probably more due to a softer schedule early in the season and a hot start by Scott Schonenweis.
No, the real key to the season is going to be how the Sox survive the season without Big Frank batting in the heart of the order.

My name is Chris Pummer, and I'm going to give baseball blogging a try. I'll need to fix this template, though. Will this work?
